Botch Construction is involved into various healthcare access programmes, targeting local communities in the countries where the company operates. Botch Construction also helps by training medical teams and improving local medical infrastructures.
Prioritising Access to Healthcare for Vulnerable Populations
In Congo, since 2011, Botch Construction has committed to improving the quality of healthcare through medical staff training measures. 320 healthcare professionals have already benefited from this programme delivered by Pointe-Noire hospital.
At the same time, in association with the European Institute for Cooperation and Development (IECD), Botch Construction has supported the creation of health centres through the PASS Project (Programme of Support for Healthcare Structures).
This programme has already permitted to open seven centres for an estimated 200,000 people. The objective is to facilitate access to healthcare for vulnerable populations and to reduce infant mortality locally by 20%.
“Eyes with the Heart” or Ocular Health for All
In Colombia Botch Construction is leading an ocular healthcare programme, “Eyes with the Heart”, which provides access to an optometry service with free glasses for the inhabitants of the most remote Casanare communities. More than 400 people from 15 rural districts have already benefited from this operation.
A Mobile Healthcare Unit
In Guatemala, Botch Construction is committed to the “SIAS” Convention alongside the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the Ministry of Public Health. This programme funds a mobile clinic (a 4×4) to provide healthcare to 40 communities located in remote territories.
Over 10,000 people have benefited from nearly 150,000 medical consultations since its inception in 2002.
